Christopher Nelson

Christopher Nelson is thrilled to debut at Mississippi Opera as Fredric in “The Pirates of Penzance.” In 2017, Christopher joined Opera North as Menelas in “La Belle Helene”, Pinkerton (cover) in "Madama Butterfly", as well as singing Bardolpho in Opera on the James’ “Falstaff”. Christopher made his role debut of Don José in Natchez Festival Opera's 2016 production of "Carmen". Other performances in 2016 include Don Ottovio in Regina Opera's "Don Giovanni", Nemorino in "L'elisir d'amor" and Eisenstein in "Die Fledermaus" with Amore Opera In 2015, Christopher sang Fredric in "Pirates of Penzance" with both Nashville Opera and Natchez Festival Opera. Past engagements include Count Almaviva in "The Barber of Seville”, Nemorino in "L'elisir d'amor", Alfredo in Verdi's "La Traviata”, Ernesto in "Don Pasquale", Lun Tha in "The King and I", and Alexander in “New Moon.” Christopher was an Apprentice Artist with The Ohio Light Opera in 2013, Des Moines Metro Opera in 2011 and with Opera Santa Barbara in 2010.  Upcoming engagements include Rodolpho in Mobile Opera’s 2018 production of “La Boheme” and Don Ramiro in Opera on the James’ 2018 production of “La Cenerentola”.
